Taj Paro sits in the Paro valley almost directly beneath the Tiger’s Nest monastery, close enough that twenty of its forty rooms and five suites look straight at the cliff face where Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated. The other twenty rooms face the mountains on the opposite side of the valley. The building draws on Bhutanese craft in its materials and detailing, set against the more contemporary, service-forward register that international hotel groups bring to Bhutan.
There are two places to eat, Vista for a wider, multi-cuisine menu and the Paro Lounge & Bar for something lighter through the day. The J Wellness Circle Spa runs the group’s own wellness programme alongside an indoor heated pool, a full gym, and a yoga instructor on staff. Rooms come with butler service and interconnecting options for families or groups travelling together.
Fourteen kilometres from Paro airport, close enough that the drive in barely counts as travel.
