Who we are
Thunphel Bhutan Travels is a Bhutan based travel company that designs customised private journeys. This policy explains what we do with the information you share on thunpheltours.com. If anything here is unclear, write to us at info@thunpheltours.com.
What we collect
When you send us an enquiry through Plan Your Journey or the contact forms, we collect your name, email address, the details you choose to share about your trip (travel style, dates, group size, interests), and anything you write in your message.
If you tell us about health needs, allergies or dietary requirements, we use that only to plan your journey and keep you comfortable.
Once you decide to travel with us, we ask for your passport details so we can arrange your visa and bookings. Passport copies reach us by email.
We also collect basic visit information, such as which pages are viewed and what device is used, but only if you accept analytics cookies (see below).
How we use it
We use your details to reply to you, design your journey, arrange your visa, hotels, guides and transport, and look after you during your stay. We do not send newsletters or marketing mailings, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed to make your journey happen. This includes the Bhutan authorities who process visas and permits, the hotels, guides and drivers who look after you, and the services that run our website and email, such as our hosting provider, our email delivery service (Brevo) and Google (for email, file storage and analytics).
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and a Google Ads tag to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our advertising. These stay switched off until you accept them in our cookie banner. If you reject them, they stay off. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the small cookie icon at the bottom left of any page.
How long we keep it
Passport copies are deleted about six months after your journey ends. Enquiries that do not become a journey are deleted after two years. Records of journeys we have operated are kept for seven years to meet our accounting and legal duties.
Other countries
Our team is in Bhutan, and some of the services we use (such as Google and Brevo) store data in other countries. By contacting us you agree that your information may be handled there.
Keeping your information safe
We keep your information in password protected accounts and share it only with people who need it to plan your journey. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care with it.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to info@thunpheltours.com and we will reply within 30 days. Deleting some records may be limited where we must keep them by law.
Children
This website is meant for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Families who travel with us share their children’s details through a parent or guardian.
