Village Lodge is a family owned farmhouse above the Paro valley, with 11 rooms gathered around a stone courtyard. The river is always within earshot, and the paddy fields lie below the house.
Each room has a wood burning bukhari, so the evenings are warm. To get to the lodge you can walk through the paddy field or take the small road leading to the courtyard of the lodge.
It is a house, not a hotel.
We have been using this lodge for people who want to experience homestay with luxury. The kitchen still grinds its own chillies, and on a clear winter morning the courtyard fills with light before the village does.
