Willing Resort sits on a hill above Willing village, a few minutes past the Sherubling School and a short drive above Trongsa town, on three acres that look straight down at Trongsa Dzong, the Ta Dzong watchtower above it, and the Mangdi Chhu river threading through the valley floor. The property is arranged as one main block, four villas, and two cottages, sixteen suites in total, and every one of them has a rooftop hot tub and a fireplace, so the view earns its place at almost any hour and any season.
An infinity pool looks out over the same valley, and the spa runs a full programme, sauna, steam room, outdoor treatments, alongside a sun terrace and garden. Two restaurants cover a wide range without pretending to be one thing, Bhutanese, Indian, Chinese and Continental food at the main dining room, Thai cuisine at the second, plus a bar with a reasonable range of local and international drinks.
Trongsa itself is the geographic and historical centre of Bhutan, the ancestral seat of the monarchy, and very few of Bhutan’s luxury properties are here at all. Willing Resort is one of the only serious answers to where to stay if a journey actually stops in Trongsa rather than passing through it.
Central Bhutan gets skipped on a lot of itineraries because there has not been anywhere worth stopping for, and Willing Resort changes that calculation. The Trongsa Dzong view from a rooftop hot tub is a specific, memorable thing, not a generic valley outlook, and having a genuinely comfortable base here means Trongsa can be a proper stop on a journey rather than a lunch break on the way to Bumthang.

Where it sits
On a hilltop above Willing village, past the Sherubling School, about eight minutes by road above Trongsa town. Trongsa Dzong and the National Museum (Ta Dzong) are a short drive below. Roughly four to five hours from Paro or Thimphu by road, on the route toward Bumthang.
