Gangtey Lodge
Nine rooms above Phobjikha valley.
Just nine rooms overlooking Phobjikha Valley, with two Michelin Keys and Gangtey Monastery across the valley.
Gangtey Lodge sits on a rise above the Phobjikha valley, and the view from the Farmhouse Suites is of the Gangtey Goemba monastery below, the traditional farmhouses in the valley, the Himalayan blue pine forests on the opposite slope, and the open sky above everything. Built from local stone and hemlock wood, it sits with enough care that it does not intrude. Eight Farmhouse Suites and one two bedroom villa, each with a log fire, exposed beams, and a freestanding slipper bath facing the valley through floor to ceiling windows. At 3,000 metres, the air is thin and sharp and very clear.
Nine rooms means the valley is essentially yours. Guests who stay here, especially in crane season, find it the most memorable night of the trip, often unexpectedly so.
