Six Senses Thimphu is positioned above the capital on a hillside, and the design draws on the dzong — the whitewashed fortress-monasteries that define Bhutanese civic architecture. The result is a building that reads as the most elevated point in the valley: the layered eaves, the tapering walls, the proportions of something built to command a view rather than sit within one. There are twenty suites and three large villas, all at 2,650 metres. The Six Senses wellness programme runs here as across all five lodges — the Alchemy Bar, the holistic spa menu, the sleep programme and farm-to-table food philosophy.
