Fly Fishing — Trout & Mahseer

A day on a glacial river casting for trout, or the south for mahseer.

Fly fishing in Bhutan is a full day on a glacial river casting for trout, or on the warmer southern waters for mahseer. A permit and a specialist guide are required, and we arrange both.

Where you fish

Trout fishing is in the cold rivers around Haa. Mahseer fishing is in the warmer waters of southern Bhutan. We choose the river with you, depending on the season and what you want to catch.

What we arrange

The permit, the guide and the logistics. Tell us about your fishing experience when you book, and bring your own questions. Bring patience too.

When to go

March to May and September to November are the best months.

Who it suits

It suits anglers, and anyone who wants a quiet day beside a river. You do not need to be an expert, but a guide helps most if you have fished before.
