Festival Access

Guided access to whichever tshechu falls during your trip, with a guide explaining the dances as they happen.

Bhutan’s tshechus run on their own calendar, different dzongkhags, different months, confirmed only close to the year itself. If your dates line up with one, we build the day around it. This is not a general festival day out. We know which grounds get crowded and which corner gives the clearest view of the mask dances, and your guide explains what is happening as the monks and dancers move through it, the meaning behind each mask, why the crowd goes quiet at certain moments. Exact festivals and dates for the year ahead sit on our Festivals page, since they shift with the lunar calendar. If one falls during your trip, this is how you experience it properly.
