Bhutan's festival year, marked quietly
The dates below are confirmed by the Tourism Council of Bhutan each year. We build private journeys around a single festival — never a circuit — so you arrive rested, sit close enough to see the masks breathe, and leave before the courtyards thin.

Nabji Lhakhang, Nabji, Trongsa24 to 26 December 2026 12 to 14 January 2028
A tsechu is not a performance — it is a teaching, danced. The masks tell stories the valleys have carried for four centuries, and the families who watch them are not spectators but participants in the same merit.
We stay back from the front row, we never schedule the festival as a day-trip from another valley, and we ask our guests to wear a kira or gho if they wish — the dzongs are still living temples, and the dress is a quiet way of saying you understand that.
Tell us which festival is calling you
Share the festival or the feeling you are after, and we will build a private journey around it — with the days before and after pitched to match.
